The Person of the Holy Spirit

Having completed my LLB, I have started taking steps to usher me into my next season.

A few days ago, while I was making an application, my WASSCE number was required, and I did not have a clue about what it was or where I could find it because I never thought I would ever need it after I got into the university. ( WASSCE is the short form for the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations).

I had just relocated home after a long time, and I barely had an idea of where most of my things were. I knew I had some documents that had my details somewhere around the house, but I did not know where to start looking from.

One of the characteristics of the Holy Spirit is that He is our Helper. So I just whispered a prayer and asked Him to help me figure this situation out. I completed secondary school in a small town called Barkin Ladi and travelling all the way to Barkin Ladi in Plateau State, was the last thing I wanted to do.

Later on that day, I was lazying around the house, doing my thing, and I heard Him call out my WASSCE number. So I took note of it. Of course, I still wanted confirmation, so I waited a bit before completing the application.

I think the next day or so, I was decluttering my room and I came across a folder. So I opened it and voila, here was my WASSCE official result looking at me, with the examination number and every single detail about that examination I would ever need.

And of course, the examination number was the exact thing the Holy Spirit had told me the day before.

What about how he reveals things to me that in my human capacity, I can never fathom? I have had so many encounters with Him that leave me in awe about His personality. He cares about every single detail of our lives.

He is not a myth. He is the third person of the trinity. He is not some spooky spirit, feathers or sawdust. He is a real person!!

Draw near to Him, and He would draw near to you. He is here on Earth to help you. Jesus sent Him as our Helper amongst many other roles He plays.

My counsel? Don’t sleep on Him. Go into this week, having it at the back of your mind that you have a Helper whom you can call on at any time.

  2. Absolutely love this. It’s so sad that sometimes we struggle through life yet we have a very present help on times on need. A Helper who wants to teach us ALL things.

This blessed me. Thank you for the reminder.
