Book review: A place of quiet rest by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

“Setting aside time for devotional activity, in and of itself, does not necessarily make us any more spiritual. (The Pharisees were renowned for their devotional habits, but they were far from spiritual.) Neither is a quiet time some sort of good luck charm, that gets God on our good side, guarantees our day will go better and keeps us from having problems. Daily devotions are not a way of bartering of negotiating with God.”

Trust God to defend you

Ultimately, nobody gives a robust reply like God. So, I hope you learn to let go and let God. There are some situations you must allow God to step in because only Him understands what you may be going through. He sees you, He understands your pain, God acknowledges your genuine heart, and He is going to show up for you if you let Him.
